My name is Britney ….. and I’m a travel-holic and wife. I was born, raised, and currently living in Southern California. My passion for travel all began when I took my first trip to Europe in 2013. Before then, I had only been to 4 other states on the west coast and Mexico. I was in this tiny little corner of the world with no clue about life outside my little box. After visiting Europe, my lust for wander took my life, shook it up, and now traveling is all I ever think about. I crave it, need it, seek it, want it, desire it, and long for it.It’s my drug.
I graduated from California State University San Marcos with a degree in business administration with an emphasis on marketing. While I was in college I started a side business called Babycakes Bikinis. My love for bikinis, business, and being my own boss took a whirlwind while I was in college, and so I started Babycakes Bikinis, my side business. I design, manufacture, and sell all my own bikinis. Full time, I work as a Marketing Specialist for a manufacturing company.
Besides seeing the world when I can afford to, there are all sorts of things I enjoy doing. My husband and I are foodies, so we love driving to new places to try new restaurants and new dishes. I also found a love for cooking, and enjoy working up new delicious concoctions. Our favorite is burgers and mac and cheese! Mmm…. Oh, and we’re huge beer lovers, so you can usually find us at your nearby brewery. Both of these hobbies makes traveling even more fun for us. We get to try new cuisines and different types of beers… it just makes life splendid!
Aside from the beer, burgers, and travel, I also enjoy the outdoors. I love to go on hikes with my Dad. We’ve summited various mountains, and even summited Mount Whitney in 2010. I also enjoy relaxing runs on the California coast. I’ve ran since I was in junior high in track and field and cross country. As an adult, I have done four half marathons and various smaller runs.

Here is a map of all the places I have traveled to. I still have a lot to cover. Everywhere that doesn’t have a pin are essentially on my life long to-do list.
I also hope to have a pin in each ocean and sea. But for now…one place at a time.
Europe has a very special place in my heart. For as long as I can remember, I have been completely obsessed with classic Disney movies. If you know about the classic fairy tales, many of them came from various locations in Europe. So ever since I was a child, I have always dreamt of going to Europe and seeing the places that inspired all my favorite stories. Not to mention, both of my parents’ ancestry comes from Europe. So I’ve always had a curiosity for the country and where my family came from.
In 2013, when I was finally able to visit Europe, all my expectations were met and even exceeded some. I fell in love. There is so much history and it’s so well preserved. Just by driving on the autobahn, you look around at the scenery and image that the land looked virtually the same hundreds and even thousands of years ago. You definitely don’t get that feeling when driving around in the United States. The US is so new and so it doesn’t have that special historic feeling of ancestry or true culture.

Mexico is a whole world of its own. Even with how close I live to Mexico, every time I visit, it’s like going to a far away land. It’s different in every single way…the people, culture, landscape, food, traditions, attitudes, government, and overall way of life. But for how different it is, I absolutely love it.
I have been going to Mexico ever since I was in junior high. Every time I have ever gone, my experience is completely different than the last. It can be a great place to learn a new culture, to shop, to relax, or of course…party. Mexico is like Vegas in some ways. What happens in Mexico, stays in Mexico.

The place I call home… The land of the free does have its perks. Although I have only been on the west coast, there is so much diversity in culture, people, landscape, and life, that it feels like five different countries all in one. Each state speaks for itself, its people, and what its special for.
